Blind Youth Association Nepal (BYAN) is an organization established by Blind and Partially Sighted (BPs) Youth of Nepal, with the vision of “BPS people of Nepal enjoying a dignified life in an inclusive society.” Currently, BYAN is working in the areas of policy advocacy, education, employment, disaster risk reduction, political participation, and promotion of SRHR of persons with disabilities in general and BPS in particular. Blind Youth Association Nepal is a dynamic and inclusive organization committed to promoting the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to join our team as a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Officer. Job Description
Position : Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) officer-1
Location : Kathmandu based, with frequent visit to the Chapters
Type of Contract : Full time- 18 Months
Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Develop and implement MEAL frameworks, systems, and tools to track the progress and impact of programs and projects. Conduct regular monitoring visits to project sites, ensuring data accuracy and quality.
Accountability:
- Establish and maintain effective feedback mechanisms for persons with disabilities, ensuring their voices are heard and incorporated into program planning and implementation. Promote transparency and accountability within the organization through regular reporting and communication.
Learning:
- Facilitate regular reflection sessions with project teams to identify lessons learned and best practices. Contribute to the development of case studies, success stories, and other knowledge products.
Capacity Building:
- Provide training and support to project staff and partners on MEAL processes and methodologies. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the organization.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (Monitoring and Evaluation, International Development, Social Sciences, etc.).
- Proven experience in designing and implementing MEAL systems in the context of disability inclusion.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including proficiency in data analysis software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team.
- Commitment to promoting the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.
- Fluency in English and Nepali is required. Knowledge of sign language is preferred.
- Prior experience working with diverse groups, including Youth and individuals with disabilities, is an added advantage.
