Leadership and Empowerment
Leadership plays a crucial role in creating an inclusive society where youth with disabilities can actively participate and lead change. At Blind Youth Association Nepal (BYAN), we believe in equipping young people with the skills, confidence, and opportunities needed to become strong advocates and leaders in their communities and beyond.
Our Approach
We provide leadership training, mentorship, and capacity-building programs to help youth with disabilities develop self-confidence, decision-making skills, and a strong sense of agency. Our programs focus on personal growth, professional development, and community leadership.
Our Key Interventions
- Leadership Training: We conduct comprehensive training programs to develop leadership skills among youth with disabilities, helping them take on key roles in their communities.
- Activity on Daily Living (ADL) Training: We offer training to enhance independent living skills, ensuring youth with disabilities can confidently manage their daily lives.
- Women Leadership Training: We provide targeted leadership training for young women with disabilities, empowering them to take active roles in decision-making and advocacy.
- Regular Coaching and Mentorship: We offer ongoing coaching and mentorship support to guide young leaders, helping them navigate challenges and build resilience.
- Exchange Visits: We facilitate national and international exchange visits to provide youth with disabilities exposure to best practices, leadership models, and networking opportunities.
Our Impact
Our leadership and empowerment programs have helped many youth with disabilities become confident advocates, take leadership positions, and influence policies and programs. By fostering inclusive leadership, we are building a future where youth with disabilities are not just participants but key decision-makers in society.
We remain committed to nurturing the next generation of leaders who will champion disability rights, inclusion, and social change.
