On behalf of the United Nations in Nepal, Real Solutions Private Limited, invites applications from potential Nepali candidates belonging to socially excluded groups.

The programme will be for 11 months period with a full time on the job training assignments with access to mentoring and practical experiences in an international UN working environment. Opportunities for prospective trainees are available in the areas of Child Protection, Civil Engineering, Culture, Developmental Research and Documentation, Education, Emergency Preparedness Support, Emergency, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Environment, Environment Health, Finance and Administration, Gender and Social Inclusion, General Administration, Human Resources and Administration, Information Management, Information Technology-User Interface, Knowledge Management, Media and Communications, Monitoring and Evaluation, Nutrition/ Public Health, Procurement and Finance, Programme Support, Public Health, Quantitative/GIS/Spatial Analysis, and Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH).

The minimum selection criteria for the applicants are given below:

  • University graduate (minimum Bachelor’s degree in relevant areas)
  • Belonging to a socially excluded group
  • Passion to work in the development sector
  • Appreciation of UN Core Values (Professionalism, Integrity & Respect for Diversity)
  • Strong commitment to learn
  • Willingness to work with diverse groups
  • Basic communication skill (oral and written) in English and Nepali languages
  • Strong commitment to complete the traineeship period

The deadline for application is 17:00 hrs, Sunday, December 09, 2018. Application received later than the deadline would not be valid for further process.

A minimal stipend will be provided to successful candidates to cover living expenses during the traineeship period. Trainees will be contracted by Real Solutions Private Limited (sub contracted company by UN) and assigned to participating UN agencies.

In no way should this programme be understood as a full time employment with a UN Agency.

The UN does not charge a fee at any stage of the recruitment of UN Trainees (application, interview, processing, training or any other fee).

Women from socially excluded groups, persons with disabilities and LGBTIQ are particularly encouraged to apply. Only short-listed candidates will be informed. Any kind of activity intended to influence the selection process will lead to disqualification.

Unleashing the voice with "Count Me Include Me", 1000's of pwd's shout-out in a rally for protecting their rights. Various governmental and non-governmental organization were part of it which started from Pragya Pratisthan to Social Welfare Council. And the huge number of participation from Nepal Association of the Blind (NAB), Blind Youth Association Nepal (BYAN) and Blind Women Association (BWA) showed visibility of visually impaired peoples in crowd.

BYAN organized a yearly general assembly for a day which included Central board members, members from seven chapters and guests from various governmental and non-governmental organizations.  Our honorable guest “Labor, employment and social security minister Mr. Gokarna Bista inaugurated the program. He gave an empowering speech mentioning to bring an impactful educational and employment program and policies for persons with disability (PWDs) especially for blind and partially sighted (BPS) youths in forthcoming days. Fortunate enough we managed some spare time to cordially thank all the volunteers with certificates whose kind assistance helped our BPS members in TSC examination.

On 26th November, 2018, Blind youth association Nepal(BYAN) had a meeting with Mr. Jonatan Grinde, Sub Grant officer at forum Syd. There were also representatives from MyRight Nepal Mr. Shiva Rayamajhi and Ms. Sujana Shakya, country officers. From BYAN, There were project team, representative from the local chapters Jhapa and Kailali, Staff members and volunteers. The meeting was focused on the activities and achievements received by BYAN during the project period 2015-17 and of the year 2018. Moreover, We also presented the Gaps of education, employment and health facilities of blind and partially sighted in Nepal.

On June 23rd, 2018, Blind youth Association Nepal had organized interaction program with government representatives from sub metropolitan of Butwal. This one day program was happened in Butwal Multiple Campus at Butwal.

Program was mainly focused about the act and rules which must be disable friendly so that person with disability can be included in blind friendly education system. Participants from various fields such as teachers, representatives from various organization, blind and partially sighted people were present.

Blind youth Association Nepal had organized Chapter functioning training to all chapters( Kathmandu, Kaski, Jhapa, Morang, Rupendehi, Kailali and Banke) representatives on 14th Jun, 2018 to 16th June, 2018 at ICA training Center, Balkumari kathmandu. Training mainly focused on education, employment and organizational strengthening issues.Participants openly discussed on problems and solutions of each chapters issues. Ms. Parbati Shrestha counseled to  all trainee on psycho-socials aspects. Similarly, Ms Romi Giri and Ms. Shristy Sharma gave short presentation about moon cup ( Mensural Cup). Mr. Sushil Chaudhary facilitated this training by informing about advocacy and disability rights.

Blind Youth Association Nepal (BYAN) has organized first phase psycho-social counseling and need assessment program in 3 integrated Schools(Jalkumari,Shree Saraswati and Amarjoyti Seconday)of mostly earthquake affected district Gorkha Nepal. Program has facilitated by a trained psychosocial counselor Ms. Parwati Shrestha with having representation of secretary of BYAN Mrs.Mina KC. Program was really interactive and productive. Support and enthusiasm of Principal, Resource teacher,brilliant student were really appreciating. We would like to express our huge gratitude to Nepal Earthquake Recovery Fund  ,David Morrall for such a nice collaboration to reaching with BPS Students and find their core problem. As well as we are very thankful to Principal and Resource teachers of all 3 schools for awesome cooperation .

Dear all,

BYAN  heartly invites to all chapters representatives ( one male and one female) to be a part of chapter functioning training. This is 3 days residential training which  is going to held from 14 June to 16 June, 2018( Jestha 31 to Asar 2,2075 B.S). We will spend 3 days training session on ICA training hall at Koteshwor, kathmandu. This program will be fruitful to discuss on ways of strengthening the chapters along with discussion on planning for the future programs according to federal democratic government system.
